Enhance Your Physique
Breast augmentation – also known as breast enlargement – is offered at the Planot Tx offices of Dr. Alfred Antonetti. Through breast augmentation surgery at our fully certified and accredited surgery center, patients who wish to achieve fuller busts and more curvaceous figures can reach their cosmetic goals in a comfortable environment.
In breast augmentation surgery, there are several options to choose from with regard to the placement of the incision and the size and type of the breast implants. Dr. Antonetti meets with each patient during a one-on-one consultation to discuss their cosmetic goals before any decisions regarding breast enlargement are made. This helps those who visit our center serving Dallas, Fort Worth, and surrounding areas to fully explore their candidacy for surgery, learn more about breast implant options, and ask any questions they may have for Dr. Antonetti or his staff.

About Your Breast Enlargement Procedure
There are several options available when it comes to breast augmentation techniques at our Dallas / Fort Worth-area surgical center. Dr. Antonetti can help you choose the one that is best for you based on your physiology and goals.
Dr. Antonetti helps patients determine not only what type and size of implant they would prefer, but also where the incision will be made during surgery. In most cases, incisions for breast implants can be subtly placed around the areola (the dark area around the nipple) or in the crease of the breast. These decisions are made based on a patient’s anatomy, body type, desired enhancement, and personal preference.
Saline vs. Silicone Breast Implants
Implants may be filled with sterile salt water (saline) or an elastic gel (silicone). Both are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), meaning they have been proven safe after extensive testing. Saline and silicone breast implants differ in a number of important ways. Many patients believe the texture of silicone implants more closely resemble that of a natural breast than does the texture of saline implants. If a silicone implant ruptures, however, it is typically more difficult to detect than the rupture of a saline implant. When a saline implant ruptures, it can be noticed almost immediately and – since saline is simply salt water – it is absorbed by the body without side effects. When a silicone implant ruptures it can go unnoticed for some time and is not absorbed by the body. During your breast enlargement consultation at our Plano center, Dr. Antonetti will discuss all aspects of saline and silicone implants with you at length.
Recovery after Breast Augmentation
At his Plano TX practice, Dr. Antonetti provides each of his patients with extensive instructions regarding how to best recover after breast augmentation surgery. Like many surgeries, the recovery after a breast augmentation procedure involves limiting movement and getting plenty of rest. Typically, patients can return to work after one week. If your surgery is performed in conjunction with other procedures, such as liposuction or abdominoplasty, recovery time might be extended.
Why Breast Implants
Women may choose breast augmentation surgery for a number of reasons pertaining to their appearance or self-esteem. They may want to increase their breast size in order to create curves or a more attractive silhouette. They may also wish to balance the appearance of differently sized breasts. Or they may hope to restore size to breasts that have lost volume after pregnancy, breast-feeding, or weight loss. Whatever the reason, breast augmentation is a popular and generally safe option for women of various ages.
Breast Augmentation Mastopexy (Breast Lift)
Women who have lost breast volume or with breasts that have become droopy as a result of childbearing, weight loss and age, find a combination of breast lift (mastopexy) and breast augmentation is usually the most effective method for breast enhancement. In most cases, women with significant ptosis and insufficient breast size will need a breast lift and breast augmentation combined, to achieve optimal results. The breast lift will elevate the areolas and reshape the breasts, removing extra tissue while the breast augmentation will add volume for a more natural look and feel of fullness.
